Eight Indonesian Gymnasts Ready for World Stage in Jakarta

The Indonesian Gymnastics Federation (Gimnastik Indonesia) has officially announced the eight athletes who will represent Indonesia at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2025, to be held at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, October 19–25, 2025.
The national squad features five male gymnasts — Abiyu Raffi, Muhammad Aprizal, Satria Tri Wira Yudha, Agung Suci Tantio Akbar, and Joseph Judah Hatoguan — alongside three female gymnasts — Alarice Mallica Prakoso, Salsabilla Hadi Pamungkas, and Larasati Rengganis.
According to Hesti Diwayanti, the Development and Achievement Division (Binpres) at Gimnastik Indonesia, the selection of Indonesia’s national gymnastics team for the Jakarta Gymnastics 2025 — as the championship is also known — was the result of a comprehensive review and a collective decision by multiple technical and medical committees.
“The athletes representing Indonesia at the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Jakarta 2025 were chosen through an in-depth evaluation process and a collective decision of the Binpres Team, which includes the Analysis Team, the Technical Committees of Men's Artistic Gymnastics and Women's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG and WAG), as well as the National Training Center’s Medical Team,” said Hesti.
A former national gymnast herself, Hesti emphasized that the selection process was conducted objectively, based on each athlete’s performance data, physical readiness, and overall preparedness for the world stage.
“In the final line-up, adjustments were made within the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics team, with Larasati Rengganis replacing Ameera Rahmajanni Hariadi, while in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics team, Joseph Judah Hatoguan joins the four national training gymnasts,” she added.
FGI reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards in the selection process and to providing continued support for all national gymnasts, including those currently in recovery or undergoing long-term training programs for future international competitions.
“Based on the latest medical evaluations, some athletes have been recommended to continue rehabilitation to ensure full recovery before returning to training and competition. Competing at an international level requires holistic preparation, both physically and mentally,” noted the FGI Medical Team.
Looking ahead, Hesti encouraged all gymnasts to make the most of their opportunity to perform before the home crowd and gain valuable experience for upcoming international events.
“This World Championships is not only a moment of pride for Indonesia but also a stepping stone for our athletes to prepare for the next global challenges,” she said.
