Gymnastics Indonesia Inspects Indonesia Arena
JAKARTA (September 12, 2024) – The Indonesia Gymnastics Federation continues to move swiftly in preparing to host the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2025.
President of Gymnastics Indonesia Federation Ita Yuliati, together with Serge M. Van Poelvoorde, an advisor from the Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU), conducted an inspection of the venue at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
Ita and the Indonesia Gymnastics Federations team visited Indonesia Arena, which will serve as the competition venue, and the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), which will be used as the training hall for athletes.
“This is our third visit, but this time we were accompanied by Serge as an advisor, who provided valuable input to help refine our preparations for the 2025 World Championships in Jakarta,” said Ita.
Ita explained that this site visit served as a final review to confirm the areas and rooms that will be used for the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Jakarta. Regarding the Indonesia Arena, Ita added that several adjustments are needed.
“From today’s inspection, there are several notes that we need to discuss with the GBK Complex Management (PPKGBK), so that Indonesia Arena can meet the requirements in line with FIG standards,” Ita stated.
The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Jakarta is scheduled to take place from August 19–25, 2025, featuring two disciplines: Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG).
This prestigious event is expected to welcome more than 1.000 delegates from 70 countries. In addition to striving to be a successful host, Gymnastics Indonesia is also preparing the national athletes to achieve optimal results at the World Championships.
