Indonesia Unveils 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Logo

Indonesia will once again host a prestigious sporting event, as the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has appointed Jakarta as the venue for the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, scheduled from October 19 to 25, 2025. Also known as Jakarta Gymnastics 2025, the event marks the first time a Southeast Asian nation will host an FIG world championship and the fourth time it will be held in Asia overall.

The event will take place at the Indonesia Arena and the training hall at Jakarta Convention Center.

Indonesia’s appointment also serves to showcase the progress of Southeast Asia as a sporting power.

The organizing committee, the Youth and Sports Ministry and FIG have launched the official logo for the championships, marking a year until the event and symbolizing the core aspects of gymnastics: muscular strength and elegant movement.

The number 53 in the logo is reminiscent of a gymnast, while the colors embody Indonesia’s scenic beauty: turquoise represents Indonesia’s seas, terracotta represents its fertile lands, and pink represents the hospitality of the Indonesian people.

Through the tagline "Move to Inspire," the event also seeks to encourage the public, from the young to the elderly, to stay active, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and embrace the values promoted by gymnastics, especially in the face of the rapid growth of an instant gratification culture.

To that end, The FIG has a special mission for the 2025 Jakarta Gymnastics event.

President of International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Morinari Watanabe

“We will try to host a new style of World Championships, where the cost of hosting the event in Jakarta will be considered as an investment, and the investment will be recovered through social contribution activities after the Championships. Because the problem of the increasing

burden on social security costs due to an aging society is currently receiving worldwide attention,” said Watanabe in his remarks during the logo launch.

“The FIG aims to increase the healthy life expectancy of the elderly and reduce the burden of social security costs through gymnastics. It is believed that social security costs can be reduced through sport.”

FIG will also design the areas to serve as models for the “FIG Ageing Society Program” campaign.

The FIG, along with the Netherlands Gymnastics Federation, will also start the project in Rotterdam, which will host the 54th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in 2026.

Watanabe hoped that the world could work together to tackle the risk posed by the aging of society through gymnastics and encouraged families and the elderly to live healthier and happier lives.

Secretary of Youth and Sports Ministry Gunawan Suswantoro

Suswantoro hailed Indonesia Gymnastics Federation and expressed pride for the hosting appointment for the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championship 2025.

“This is part of Indonesia Gymnastics Federation consistent commitment to contributing to the Indonesian gymnastics’ scene. The government will support this international championship which would lead to improved sporting achievements.”

“It is my hope that this international event will promote a sporting culture in communities, leading to a healthier public and better sporting prestige.”

President of Indonesia Gymnastics Federation and Chair of Local Organizing Committee Ita Yuliati

Yuliati said Indonesia is proud to host the world championship.

“We feel proud and honored because this will be the first international event of its kind here and in Southeast Asia. Thank you, FIG, for trusting us to host the World Championship 2025,” said Ita in her remarks.

“This is the opportunity for Indonesia to prove itself as an extraordinary host that could inspire all people.”

President of Nasional Olympic Committee of Indonesia Raja Sapta Oktohari

Oktohari also appealed for support from the public.

"The message we need to convey is the fact that we’re the first to host the World Championship in Southeast Asia; we're the first in Southeast Asia, so let’s make sure we’re not doing a slapdash job as the host," said Okto.

"This will be a prestigious moment, a valuable opportunity that needs to be maximized because not only Jakarta but all of Indonesia and the world will set their eyes on Jakarta Arena."

“The new administration has welcomed the event. I’ve been in talks with Mr. Prabowo, who wants to see Indonesia hosting more major events.”
