Paris Olympic Medalists Dominate Jakarta Gymnastics 2025 Opener

Olympic medalists from Paris 2024 dominated the opening day of the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, held on Sunday (Oct 19) at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta.
They took charge in nearly every apparatus final —except the high bar.
In the floor exercise, Great Britain’s Jake Jarman, the Paris bronze medalist, led the standings with 14.700 points. Carlos Edriel Yulo of the Philippines followed closely with 14.566 points.
Yulo was one of the biggest stars of the Paris Olympics, winning two gold medals in floor exercise and vault.
On pommel horse, Kazakhstan’s Nariman Kurbanov, who took silver in Paris, topped the qualification with 14.700 points.
In the rings event, Greece’s Eleftherios Petrounias —the Paris 2024 bronze medalist— recorded the second-highest score of 14.366.
The vault saw another strong showing from Yulo, who led with 14.750 points, followed by Armenia’s Artur Davtyan, the Paris silver medalist, with 14.566 points.
On parallel bars, Japan’s Shinnosuke Oka, a triple gold and one bronze medalist in Paris, continued his stellar run, taking the top spot with 14.533 points.
In the all-around standings, Daiki Hashimoto of Japan led with a total of 83.065 points. Nicknamed Mr. Infinite Stamina, Hashimoto captured team gold at the Paris Olympics, and earlier in Tokyo 2020, earned two golds and one silver across the horizontal bar, team, and all-around events.
