Shinnosuke Oka, the three-time gold medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, is optimistic about continuing his winning streak by bringing home medals from the 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, taking place from Oct. 19–25, 2025.

Throughout this year, the 21-year-old gymnast has already collected four gold and two silver medals from two different tournaments.

In June, he won three gold medals at the 2025 Asian Championships held in Jencheon, South Korea — in the parallel bars, all-around, and team events.

A month later, Oka also brought home one gold and two silver medals from the 2025 World University Games in Thine-Ruhr, Germany.

“I’ll do my best to win gold medals in each event,” Oka said.

The 53rd FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Championships at Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, marks Oka’s first-ever world championships since he began his senior career in 2021.

Here’s the LOC Media Team’s interview with Shinnosuke Oka:

You’ve won many medals over the past two years. Are you optimistic about winning gold again at this world championships?

Yeah. Well, this tournament, when it's being held in Jakarta, I’m really looking forward to this match. Yeah, I'm nervous, also doing personal [and] general [traingin]. Yeah, I'll do my best to win many gold medals in each event.

How has your preparation in Jakarta been so far?

As preparation for the world championships, it was a pre-training camp. Well, good things. I’ve been able to get it out and I'm getting ready. I’m really confident, even after entering the site. I rented a gymnasium in Jakarta, really can only thank Jakarta. Well, I'll do my best to return this favor with results.

What do you think about the competition in the championships? Who do you see as your toughest rival?

Well, my rival in the world championships, of course, it is [Daiki] Hashimoto, and the other gymnasts. There are [good] gymnasts, but first beat yourself. [better] than yesterday's self. I'll do my best so that I can go beyond, even a little.
